Fr Philip Conner is the parish priest of St Joseph’s. Fr Philip was ordained in 2005 and was assistant priest at St Anthony’s Preston, before becoming Chaplain to the Youth Service at Castlerigg Manor in Keswick. Fr Philip also serves the Catholic Chaplaincy at the University of Lancaster. When he’s not working, you’ll no doubt see him on his rounds or up on the hills running and walking with Bosco, the dog.
Deacon Stephen Pendlebury was ordained in 2001 and is the Deacon at St Joseph’s. Besides co-ordinating visits to the housebound and the sick, supporting the administrative side of the parish, visiting the primary school and organising our Year of Mercy initiatives, Deacon Stephen is also a music teacher at Our Lady’s Catholic High School in Lancaster.
The Parish Council is comprised of representatives of the parish who support the work of the clergy of the parish and help to develop initiatives to support the mission of the parish. Feeding into the Parish Council which meets bi-annually, there is a Finance and Buildings Committee, a Social Committee, and a Mission and Evangelisation Group. Currently the chair of the Parish Council is Dawn Hilton.
