St Joseph’s Catholic Church in Lancaster – St Joseph’s parish comprises the northern side of the River Lune at Lancaster, taking in Ryelands, Skerton, Beaumont, and Halton. We are a small community where you will receive a warm welcome.
Pope Francis has been impressing upon us the need to care for God’s creation, and has written a beautiful encyclical, Laudati Si, on the gift of creation. We all love our animals and pets, and since we are around the feast day of St Francis, there will be a short service of blessing for your pets at 11.15am on Saturday 1 October on the lawn at the front of the church. Bring your dogs, cats, goldfish, gerbils, tortoises... and also some poop bags in case of an accident.
